im starting my 100g fish only tank.
im going fish only for a lil while because of my budget.
baby is going to be 2 , not a baby anymore thus she needs attention and toys and stuff haha

i do plan on thowing in some softies like leather and colts coral. stuff that branches off and is easy to care for and doesnt demand crazy light. i also want to thow in some nice macros. iv always wanted macros in my tanks but never got around to it.
but thats later on.

heres what i have so far let me know if i can get away with this stuff for this tank....

.110g tank.
.i forget the brand...canister filter rated for 200g tank...
.K evos. 700 somthin model.
.i just came up on an extremely good deal on rock. i got around 150 lbs of rock from some chick on CL
300watt jebo heater.

for lighting im thinking about buying one of them cheap ebay LED lights
been looking at some cheaply priced fixtures.
not to many reviews on them. even if their not that great. im only going fish only...

all i need though is some sand and water for the time beeing...
ill post pics later today or tommorrow of what i have so far

Props to John at Advance Acrylics!!!

So I just got back from meeting John at Advance Acrylics and picking up my new custom sump and ATO reservoir. The quality of his product is Topnotch. I've seen his builds online, but I have never really had the chance to check out his work in person. After getting everything home and inspecting everything, I am 200% satisfied with the product and the service John provided...I really couldn't ask for anything more. As I mentioned before, not only is the product topnotch and amazing, but his customer service was excellent as well. He answered all my questions and was very helpful throughout the design process and making sure everything was going to fit my needs. He even made some really good suggestions and added some great upgrades at no extra cost. He also responded to all my emails/text/calls, quickly, at all hours of the day and night.

With all this said, I am in no way affiliated with John or Advance Acrylics in any way. I am just a VERY satisifed customer who feels the need to spread the word on a great product and vendor.

John, another big Thank You for all your help and for hooking me up with an awesome product. You have a customer for life.

NOW ON TO THE GOOD STUFF!

The dimensions of the sump are 30"Lx20W"x18"H using 3/8" acrylic. The design is Fuge/Return/Skimmer intake. As you can see, he used black acrylic for the baffles, filter sock, and bubble traps. All seems are perfect and he rounded and polished the corners.

New 80G Lee Mar Build!!!

Yo, I just came up on a nice custom Lee Mar 80G w/ Starphire glass! Right now I just have the tank and stand. The dimensions of the tank are 36x30x18 with a corner overflow. Right now I'm in the process of refinishing the stand to match our furniture . Can't wait to get this thing set up, but I'm sure it will be a time consuming project.

My plans are:
Refinish stand to look antique black.
Run 1.5" durso overflow and 1" return stepped down to 3/4" Y adapter with 2 loc-lines.
2" Sand bed
~70Lbs LR
Either a custom sump or try to throw something together with an old breeder. (Skimmer/Fuge/Return)
SWC Xtreme 160 Skimmer
Mag 9.5 for return
2 Kessil A150W 15k's w/ Goosenecks
JBJ ATO
Not sure on flow. Thinking about an MP40 and maybe a couple Tunze or other power heads.

Think that's it for now. Now I just need to find some good pricess on all the crap I need to buy. If anyone knows where I can find the listed items for a decent price, hook it up!

I'll try to get pictures of the tank and the whole process. It may be a long build though...

hello again

hey their buddies its been a while.
long story short. i moved (still in fontucky) and got really burried in alot of crap. daughters growing up FAST fish tanks are all empty.
so that leaves me with the whole filling them up again thing. well at least the 100g. it was a freshwater severum tank.

i wanted to go AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE with this tank as i could, also im on a tight budget. cant afford to spend TOO mush money , but its hard to completely go away from the SW thing.... i want color and schooling so i was thinking like chromies or damsels but didnt want to run the risk of all the fish killing themselves.any other fish options? i dont really mind the 1st 2. the wifey really likes them

also could i get away with just using a canister filter and some power heads?
i wont be keeping any coral or anything just fish and maybe some macros or somthing

Main Q: is what is the simplest way i can run a 100g with nothing but fish and without braking the pocket bank?

can i go skimmerless and just stay on top of water changes and topoffs?

i know i dont need fancy lighting but what can i get away with to make fish colors pop out?

also need sand whats the cheapest? haha i have some rock already but need some good live rock to start a cycle.

i know i sound like a TOTAL noob again but i just really want some help on what i can do and not be supid and impulse buy.
its like im new to this thing again. i just want to set somthing up again

any help and info would be much appreciated:)

FS/FT: 50 Gallon Rimless Tank

Hi guys, as the title states, I have a 50 gallon rimless tank for sale. Was out of the game for awhile, and decided to keep the tank in case I ever wanted to get back into it. I've decided to go with a smaller tank since I don't have as much room as I used to. The dimensions are 36"Lx18"Wx18"H. I will sell the tank for $80, or trade it for a smaller tank. I'm looking for a 30g or less tank, preferably a rimless shallow or cube tank. Thanks
